Richard D. Ruttenberg is a film scorer, studio musician, and recording artist. Educated at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Richard's film score for "I Am Ana" debuted at the Cannes Film Festival in France for 2018's Short Film Corner. The film also won Best Drama at 2018's Hollywood International Moving Pictures Film Festival. A founding member of the band RiZe, Richard and writing partners Zeno Messis and Laggy Panteli were immediately signed to the UK based Superfreq Records label. Rize' debut album, "Four Beats and Some Sweets" is available worldwide at Beatport.com  Superfreq signed Richard again to a multi album deal when he formed the dynamic duo Delicate Droids with Colchester England's Peter Dutch. Their debut EP, Orgasm Raygun, is available worldwide at Beatport.com  Recent Delicate Droid EP releases include the EP's  "Sleeping in Leather & Walk of Shame. A 4th work entitled "Not Fit To Make Tea" was also released. Fast forward to 2025 & Richard has written and recorded over 30 albums.  The last 5 albums & counting are a collaborative effort with 3 time Grammy winning bassist, Jimmy Haslip.  To date, three of those albums have been considered Grammy worthy for Best Alternative Jazz Album and Best Contemporary Instrumental Album.
